Now in its 16th year, the Hawaii Kai Jaycees provides excellent opportunities for its members to grow into leaders while also participating in worthwhile community projects such as the Hawaii Kai Dog Walk and the Hawaii Foodbank’s Annual Food Drive. In 2008, the chapter became one of the founding members of the Independence Day at Maunalua Bay Foundation, which holds a 4th of July fireworks extravaganza in Hawaii Kai.

Hawaii Kai Jaycees’ work to develop members and the community has been recognized by both the Hawaii Jaycees and various community leaders in Hawaii Kai.  In 1997, 2003, 2005, and 2006, the Chapter was recognized as the Number 1 Chapter in the Hawaii Jaycees and has won many awards for project and chapter excellence by the United States Junior Chamber.

The Hawaii Kai Jaycees, founded in 1994 by the Maui Jaycees, is one of twelve chapters in the Hawaii Organization.  Our primary focus is to develop our members through individual trainings which allow them the opportunity to develop critical leadership skills through project management within our community.  Members who have worked to develop themselves in the Hawaii Kai Jaycees have become successful in both work and the community!

The Hawaii Kai Jaycees Chapter President for 2010 is Jon Nakasone and he has chosen the theme “Be the Change”.

The chapter’s focus this year is to encourage our members to utilize the Jaycees’ principles to create new and innovative projects. We want to broaden our resources and prepare the new generation of Jaycee leaders.

If you think you have what it takes to make a difference, then we challenge you to join the Hawaii Kai Jaycees!
